The end of April saw some high-profile games release, like Pokémon Snap, but May is set to kick things up a notch. There’s a selection of great titles and remasters coming over the next 31 days that should be enough to get every type of gamer excited.
Whether you love strategy games, casual action titles, or tricky platformers, there is definitely something for everyone. There’s also a solid spread across all the platforms, with the NIntendo Switch particularly well represented in May.

The Colonists

Dark Nights with Poe and Munro

Dark Nights with Poe and Munro is a sort of cross between a movie and a game. It features more than 5 hours of HD video full of interactive elements. The adventure game tasks players with navigating through a series of paranormal and strange situations.
Highrisers

In Highrisers players have to lead a team of four survivors through a post-apocalyptic skyscraper. Along the way, a crowd of mutated humans infected with some strange disease will try to hunt you down. With pixel art and a procedurally generated world, it should give players plenty of replay value.
Blazing Beaks

Blazing Beaks is a roguelike that punishes players for being too greedy. The colorful world may look cute at first but it is a game filled with mutated monsters and creatures. Artefacts provide big boosts but also carry a lot of risks due to the disadvantages they can bring.
The Invisible Hand

The Invisible Hand is essentially a stockbroker simulator. Players take on the role of a stockbroker trying to earn as much wealth as possible at the Ferios firm. In this game, only profit matters so it’s possible to manipulate markets and user insider trading to boost your funds.
Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village is the eighth game in the mainline series. Featuring some impressive looking villains, it carries on the plot from Resident Evil 7, taking place three years after that game. It will also include an online multiplayer mode and allow players to hunt animals to gather resources.
Hood: Outlaws and Legends

Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a multiplayer game that involves battling rival gangs to come out on top and carry off the treasure. Set in a medieval world, users will have to fight against other players and in-game enemies to secure the loot.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids

Wrath of the Druids is the first major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It will take players to Ireland, with the protagonist having to fight against a druidic cult. It has already been delayed a number of times but is finally coming in May.
Famicom Detective Club

Nintendo revealed earlier this year that they were remaking the two Famicom Detective Club titles from the late 1980s. Featuring new graphics, music, and fully-voiced dialogue, it will release as part of a collection for the Nintendo Switch and see players attempt to solve a series of murder mysteries in the Japanese countryside.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a compilation of the first three Mass Effect games. EA has upgraded all the titles, with the first game receiving a significant update with improved graphics and some gameplay changes. Subnautica: Below Zero

Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Dry Twice

Just Die Already

Just Die Already puts players into the shoes of disgruntled old people who want to cause mayhem. Made by the same team as Goat Simulator, players have to try and survive in a world that just wants you to die after being kicked out of a retirement home.
