Fortnite has finally been released on Google Play. The game was released on Android back in August 2018, but it has only been distributed through the Epic Games website until now.
Initially, Epic refused to release the game on Google Play because of a 30% commission that Google charges on app revenue in its store. Epic considers such a high percentage to be unfair because the service occupies more than 50% of the market. Google itself does not agree with this argument.
At the same time, Google has an aggressive policy for software distributed outside Google Play, flagging it as potentially malicious. It may actually scare ordinary users. In order not to lose an audience, Epic was forced to add Fortnite to the Google store.
