Rockstar Games has now revealed that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S port of Grand Theft Auto 5 will be coming out on March 15. Additionally, they have revealed many exciting details about this ambitious port.
Fans have been waiting a long time for this title. The port was originally scheduled to come out in November 2021, but it looks like there won’t be any more unwanted delays for this game.
What Can Players Expect?
What is so exciting about this latest version of GTA 5? For one thing, updated graphics will support both 4K resolution and up to 60 FPS while playing. There are also options for ray tracing, HDR, better textures, improved draw distances, and more.
The game will also load quicker, use advanced haptic feedback, and feature 3D audio. And you don’t have to start from scratch: if you already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One, you can perform a one-time migration that will bring over your progress from both the story mode and GTA Online.
Grand Theft Auto Online
Speaking of GTA Online, it will be getting a standalone version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S that also launches March 15. And if you’re a PlayStation 5 player, you can snag GTA Online for free for the first three months after its release.
There are also some improvements to the GTA Online experience. For instance, you can now skip the GTA 5 story mode prologue. Instead, there is a more streamlined GTA Online tutorial. And from the beginning, the Career Builder mode will let you immediately choose from the following roles: Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner, or Gunrunner. Returning players can get a new start with the Career Builder, and all players will get a major amount of GTA$ when they first log in.
Other new features for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version include Hao’s Special Works, a new auto shop. This shop allows vehicle upgrades (including five old vehicles and five new ones). These upgrades are important because select vehicles in the game will now be able to drive faster than in previous console versions. This is great news if you’re feeling the need for speed!
