While plenty of titles are compatible with Valve’s Steam Deck, Bungie has already said that Destiny 2 is not one of them. And now, Bungie has revealed that trying to play Destiny 2 on Steam Deck can get you banned!
This news comes to us courtesy of prolific Twitter user @Wario64. He pointed out how Bungie’s own help site spells out a pretty bleak warning for players.
The message couldn’t be more clear. “Destiny 2 is not supported for play on the Steam Deck or on any system utilizing Steam Play’s Proton unless Windows is installed and running. Players who attempt to launch Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck through SteamOS or Proton will be unable to enter the game and will be returned to their game library after a short time. Players who attempt to bypass Destiny 2 incompatibility will be met with a game ban.”
While this news is disappointing, it’s not exactly surprising. Some other high-profile games such as Fortnite will not be compatible due to concerns about both cheating and overall game compatibility.
