The Pokémon Go Fest is now officially scheduled for July 2021. Due to ongoing concerns about COVID-19, this is going to be an online event available to players worldwide.
The exact dates of the online festival are July 17–18. Developer Niantic has given very few details about what players can expect except for the festival being online and worldwide.
That being said, we are coming up on the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. In a recent blog post, Niantic pointed this out and promised that players “won’t want to miss” the event.
Chances are high that this year’s event will look a lot like last year’s festival. That included a Global Challenge Arena as well as The Feeling of Victory Special Research that gave players a chance to catch the elusive Victini.
If you don’t want to wait until July for new Pokémon Go content, you can enjoy a special event tomorrow to celebrate the launch of the Nintendo Switch game New Pokémon Snap on April 30.
The Pokémon GO “New Pokemon Snap” celebration event starts on Thursday, April 29 at 10 a.m. local time and ends on Sunday, May 2 at 8 p.m. local time.
