Resident Evil Re: Verse Delayed to Summer 2021

Resident Evil Re: Verse, a multiplayer shooter that was initially meant to launch alongside Resident Evil: Village, has been delayed until Summer 2021.

In an email sent to Resident Evil Ambassadors, publisher Capcom explained that the spin-off will not release at the same time as its latest title. Resident Evil: Village is set to hit store shelves on May 7.

Capcom has since confirmed the news on the game’s official site, which now states it will release in Summer 2021.

The reason for the delay is unknown but Capcom has been testing it over the last few months with a number of public and closed beta tests taking place. The publisher ended one such event prematurely due to mass problems with matchmaking.

Resident Evil Re: Verse is a sixth-player deathmatch multiplayer game. Characters from the entire horror franchise will be included, with the visuals given a comic book-style look to help figures stand out more compared to more traditional Resident Evil games.
