If you’re really looking forward to The Last of Us Part II, then you need to be careful. Some videos with key plot spoilers have leaked to the web.
Apparently, the main source was YouTube and it has already been removed at Sony’s request. Unfortunately, you still can find these videos on the web, as well as spoilers including some main story events and a rough description of the finale.
Many merged videos show technical information, some contain Portuguese subtitles. In addition to a single-player campaign, there are some early shots from an early version of the multiplayer. Perhaps the leak is the responsibility of a Sony former employee, who had access to the game’s internal builds.
Recall that The Last of Us Part II was supposed to be released on May 29, but it was postponed due to logistical difficulties associated with the coronavirus. The multiplayer will not be part of Part II at all; it is going to be released as a separate game.
Naughty Dog tweeted the following comments about the leak, saying, “It’s disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development. Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don’t spoil it for others.”
Those wanting to avoid spoilers will not have to wait too long for the game’s release. Sony announced a release date for The Last of Us Part II on the PlayStation Blog: the game arrives on PS4 on June 19.
