Even Ubisoft admits that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has been a sales failure. Currently, the developers are fixing the game, while trying to lure players. Now, you have two ways to play the action game for free — download the trial version or get a pass from a friend.
Friend Pass
All owners of any Breakpoint edition can invite up to three friends who don’t own the game to join and play co-op with you for free. But remember, you need a PS Plus or Xbox Gold account to play co-op.
There is no limit to the number of invitees, just no more than three simultaneously. Teammates must download a trial version on the same platform as the host uses. The Friend Pass system will run on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One until June 16.
Free Trial
The trial gives you six hours of gameplay. Your progress will be saved after that and then you can either buy Breakpoint or play via a friend’s pass. The trial version can be downloaded to PC (via Microsoft Store, PlayStation®Store, Ubisoft Store, or Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The free trial promotion will run forever, according to Ubisoft.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint launched a major content update called TU 2.0.0 on March 24.
